GovCon SIG

The Government Contracting Special Interest Group (GovCon SIG) is dedicated to present information useful for finance professionals in the government contracting community and those that serve the community.

A key to the success of this large SIG is the consistency of the programming. The GovCon Breakfast series are CPE events generally offered on the second Tuesday of every odd month (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov).

Recent topics have included:

  • Negotiating Final Indirect Rates and Forward Pricing Agreements
  • Mergers, Acquisition, and Financing for Government Contractors
  • Technology & ERP: Considerations for Government Contractors
  • GSA Schedule Compliance/OIG Audits
  • Contract Closeouts and Terminations
  • The CMMC Proposed Rule and the new DOD FedRAMP Equivalency Memo
  • Navigating Requests for Equitable Adjustments and Claims
  • Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
The Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) Update is a foundational CPE event held every January and is similar to the Tri-State Tax Update in that the DCAA shares their focus for the upcoming year.

William (Bill) Maxwell is a past Chapter President, long time VSCPA and IMA Government Contracting Committee Chair, and advisor to the government contracting community, Bill has used his experience to lead and grow this group since 2003.
